Bath Creamers
You will need:-
600g sodium bicarbonate
300g citric acid
100g of natural talcum powder base
100g cocoa butter
50g Shea butter
12ml of essential oil (patchouli and orange OR geranium and lemongrass OR lime and tea tree)
1 drop of food colouring optional
Latex gloves
Dried botanicals or fruit tea leaves, desiccated coconut, coloured sugar, dried flower petals, cake sprinkles etc
A tea tray with a layer of baking parchment on it for drying
A non stick baking tray to lay out your botanicals
Method:-
In a bowl combine the dry ingredients thoroughly using sieve. In a separate bowl melt the butters over a bain-marie ( a slow cooker with water in it on hot will act as an effective bain-marie). Add the essential oils and the food colouring if you are using it. WEARING GLOVES add the liquid to the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly (like mixing cookie dough). Mould into small balls (should be sized between a large marble and a golf ball) or press into chocolate moulds. If making balls lay your botanicals or cake sprinkles on a non stick baking tray and roll the ball in them.
If using moulds press the botanicals on to the top exposed surface. Place on the tea tray and leave in a warm place to set. Label 'DO NOT EAT' for safety. Use within 3 months
Individual Protective Barrier Hand Cream Pastilles for hard working hands
You will need:-
200gm shea butter
200gm coconut butter
200gm cocoa butter
2 ml (50 drops) tea tree essential oil
2ml (50 drops) lavender essential oil
2ml (50 drops) geranium or may chang essential oil
Miniature Bun cases
Method:-
Melt butters in a bain-marie starting with coco butter then the shea butter and the coconut butter. Let it cool slightly, then stir in essential oils. Pour into mini bun cases (no more than a centimetre in the bottom). Label as individual barrier cream treatments.
How to apply:-
Press nails into the pastille so that under the nail and cuticles are coated with a thick layer and then rub the rest of the pastille into the hands and wrists. At the end of the working session wash hands in very warm water and the cream will gently melt away taking any lodged soil or harsh cleaning chemicals with it leaving the hands soft and moisturised and the nail beds and under nails strong, clean and beautiful.
Chocolate Bath Bombs
You will need:-
Bicarbonate soda - 500g
Citric acid - 250g
Natural talcum powder base 80g
Grated cocoa butter 65g
Cocoa powder (drinking cocoa – not hot chocolate) 2 teaspoonsful
Chocolate cake sprinkles 2 teaspoonfuls
Witch hazel approx 50ml
Food Colouring (brown)
Vanilla fragrance oil 1.5ml (37drops)
Benzoin essential oil 1.5ml (37 drops)
Orange essential oil .5ml (12 drops)
Chocolate food flavouring 1 teaspoonful
Brown food colouring 1-2 drops
Moulds (silicon moulds recommended)
Method:-
Blend the dry ingredients together very thoroughly (use a sieve or a mixer). Add food colouring and essential oils, fragrance and food flavouring into to the witch-hazel and place in a spray bottle. Now, this is the difficult part. Spritz (with a squirt bottle) the witch hazel onto your batch while stirring with the other hand. When your batch sticks together when squished, you need to start putting it in the moulds – time is of the essence. If you wait too long, the mixture will get hard. If you spritz too much, the mixture will be too wet and will begin the fizzing reaction.
Put the bombs in moulds – wait a few minutes and tap them out. Let them air dry for 3 or 4 hours and you will have amazing bath bombs. The harder you pack the bath bombs, the more dense, heavy, and durable bomb you will get. You can add more chocolate cake sprinkles to the surface by pressing them quickly into place or waiting until your bath bomb is dry and use heavy duty hair spry or hair gel or cake icing to give you a sticky surface on which to press the sprinkles.
