Chamomile is a soothing, calming and balancing essential oil which is ideal for the hyperactive, workaholic types and chronic worriers. Blue Chamomile essential oil has a high content of Azulene, the active organic compound of Chamomile which gives it its deep-blue colour. Azulene has powerful anti-inflammatory and skin healing properties which makes Blue Chamomile the most suitable essential oil to use in skincare products.
Blue Chamomile essential oil is derived from the German Chamomile plant and is considered by some chamomile enthusiasts to have a cleaner, fresher scent. Blue Chamomile costs more to grow and harvest which is why it is more expensive than Roman Chamomile essential oil. Both oils have very similar properties but Blue Chamomile is considered a collectors essential oil and all aromatherapy enthusiasts should experience it as part of their aromatherapy journey.
