Ylang Ylang Extra essential oil is produced from the cananga tree, a tall evergreen tree that is grown in Madagascar, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Reunion. The tree produces large yellow and white flowers that have a powerful, fragrant scent. The essential oil is steam distilled from the tree's flowers and the yellow flowers are believed to produce the best oil. A single distillation of Ylang Ylang is interrupted at four different times to produce four different grades of essential oil - Ylang Ylang Extra, Grade 1, Grade 2 and Grade 3.
Our Ylang Ylang Extra essential oil comes from the first extraction. It has an intensely sweet, floral fragrance with tropical top notes and exotic, woody undertones. It is more concentrated than other grades, containing the highest amount of esters, which gives it the sweetest aroma. Ylang Ylang Extra is generally considered the best for use in aromatherapy and for perfumery.

Blends well with:

Blending with Lemon, Bergamot and other fresh-smelling essential oils is recommended to help lighten the heavy fragrance. Blends well with most florals and citruses e.g. Chamomile, Lavender, Geranium.

Dry/combination skin:
Moisturising/balancing body lotion: 100ml Moisturising Lotion, 8 drops Ylang Ylang, 10 Lavender, 10 Bergamot & 8 Geranium.

Pulse Point Perfume: 20ml Jojoba Oil, 4 drops Ylang Ylang, 1 Ginger & 5 Grapefruit.
