Ginger essential oil is steam-distilled from the unpeeled dried ground roots of the Zingiber officinale plant which is native to southern Asia, China, India and Java. Ginger has been used extensively for centuries for both culinary and medicinal purposes and many cultures actually regard it as a sacred spice that has a positive influence on both the mind and body.
In modern aromatherapy Ginger essential oil is renowned as a warm and fortifying aromatherapy oil that is ideal for soothing the mind and counteracting fatigue. Aromatherapists also commonly use Ginger oil in the winter time, or in therapeutic massage oils for the joints and muscles.

Use sparingly - use a maximum of 3 drops in the bath and 2% dilution for massage. Do not use on sensitive skin.
Ginger essential oil has stimulating properties that can be beneficial for debility, fatigue and nervous exhaustion. It can help to fortify the emotions, increase determination and inspire action. It is often used in aromatherapy blends for Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).
Ginger oil has warming, analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties that are useful for muscular tension and pain. It is particularly useful in massage oils when the muscles are cold and contracted. Ginger essential oil has a stimulating effect on the digestive system and can be useful for poor digestion and flatulence. It is also useful for treating nausea and vomiting, including travel sickness, and morning sickness. It is popular for winter aromatherapy treatments, helping to prevent chills, stimulate the circulation and warm the extremities. It can also help to relieve the symptoms of colds and bronchitis.

Orange, Clove and Lavender
Citral 0.7%, Limonene 2%, Linalool 0.6%.
For digestive problems / Irritable Bowel
Mix 30ml carrier oil with 2 drops Ginger, 4 drops Plai, 2 drops Star Anise and 1 drop Black Pepper. Massage into the tummy in a clockwise direction to encourage digestive flow.
To stimulate energy and to soothe the digestive system try a reviving shower with 30ml SLS free Bath & Shower Gel, 6 drops Ginger, 3 drops Coriander Seed and 3 drops Bay Leaf.
Mix 120ml SLS free Bath & Shower Gel, 2 drops Ginger, 10 drops Rosemary, 10 drops Lime and 4 drops Black Pepper.
Mix 15ml carrier oil with 1 drop Ginger, 3 drops Lime and 3 drops Rosemary.
For uplifting and stimulating the mind
Diffuse 2 drops Ginger, 3 drops Basil, 2 drops Black Pepper and 1 Eucalyptus
For stress, anxiety and fatigue
Mix 1 drop of Ginger, 2 drops Cardamon and 4 drops May Chang with 15ml of Bath Oil and add to a warm (not hot) bath. Soak for 20 mins.
Mood enhancing/aphrodisiac pulse point perfume
Mix 20ml Jojoba Oil, 1 drop Ginger, 4 drops Ylang Ylang, and 5 drops Grapefruit.
For muscular aches and pains
Mix 15ml Arnica oil with 2 drops Ginger, 4 drops Sweet Thyme and 8 drops Rosemary. Massage into the affected areas twice a day.
Winter warmer massage
Mix 2 drops Ginger, 2 drops Black Pepper and 1 drop Cardamon with 15ml carrier oil to boost circulation and stimulate blood flow to cold fingers and toes.
