Hemp Seed Oil is a highly-therapeutic yet under-utilised carrier oil. It is cold pressed from the seeds of the hemp (Cannabis sativa) plant which is believed to be a native plant of India.  Cold pressed Hemp Seed Oil is a dark green colour with a pleasant nutty, grassy aroma.

Hemp Seed Oil is possibly one of the most nourishing oils available. It is rich in vitamins and minerals and contains more naturally occurring essential fatty acids than any other plant-based oil. It has a perfect balance of Omega-6 and Omega-3 as well as being rich in the natural antioxidant Vitamin E. It is also one of the richest sources of polyunsaturated fatty acids which help to keep our skin soft, supple and youthful and our hair healthy and strong.

Hemp Seed Oil is a light oil that is easily absorbed by the skin. It can be used for all massage applications and it also makes a great moisturiser to revitalise and repair dry and damaged skin. It has been clinically proven to help remedy dry skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis as well as minor skin abrasions and acne.

Hemp is often recommended as an effective treatment for dandruff, hair loss and dry, thin hair with poor condition, and it is also thought to help reduce inflammation and soothe sore muscles when used for massage.

For general usage we typically recommend that our Hemp Seed Oil is used at 5-10% dilution with lighter carrier oils, creams, lotions or other cosmetic bases. For skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis, athritic conditions or muscular aches and pains it can be used at up to 80%.

Storage Advice: Hemp Seed Oil is sensitive to light and heat. We recommend that it is refrigerated after opening.

NOTE: Hemp Seed Oil does not have narcotic properties even though it comes from the same plant that produces cannabis/marijuana. There are a number of varieties of Cannabis sativa and ‘industrial hemp’ is grown legally in many countries for its seed, fibre content and by-products such as hemp oil. The varieties grown for cannabis/marijuana are scientifically different and cultivated in very different ways.
